Description

Before Josh and I sat down with Ford in this episode of the Tatiana Show, we caught up with Patrick from PorcFest.  After we learned all about this year’s event happening later this month in New Hampshire, we talked to Ford and the problems he is having with censorship on YouTube.  After two of his videos were deleted, YouTube decided to demonetize him, which is basically a death sentence for independent journalists who rely on revenue from the site to survive and continue their work.

Is this practice a violation of our 1st amendment rights and would it be wise to ask the government to get involved?  What other platforms are there that are available? Have incidents such as the shootings in New Zealand that were live streamed giving the platforms another reason to censor us?  What updates does he have regarding Chelsea Manning and the Wiki-Leaks drama? We discuss all of these topics and more on today’s episode.

  • Hello everyone! As you can see, my name is Adam and I am an aspiring journalist. I have always had a knack for the creativity and awe inspiring nature of wordsmith code. I understand the power and truth that comes with writing down words. After all, the pen is mightier than the sword. Originally, I wanted to go to law school. However, after seeing the insolvency of the system and the massive debt, I realized how much of a mistake that would be. I now want to pursue a career as a journalist because I care about the truth, something that most journalists, sadly enough, do not care about in today’s world. Here is the thing: I don’t want to go into student loan debt. I’ve realized that journalism school is pretty useless. Most (if not all) of what you learn can be obtained through real-world experience and books. As a matter of fact, I feel as though I have more experience than most journalism students. For one thing, I have my own column that I edit and operate. The column is connected to a watchdog group here in Vegas. I intern for a new journalism start-up company, and I was just hired as a part-time writer and blogger for a new Bitcoin start-up. Needless to say, I’ve gained a lot and I’m still in my early to mid 20s! Here is my question: what can I do to become a journalism without becoming part of the system? I know there are a ton of great writers and authors here, and I’m hoping one of them would be willing to mentor me. If you have any advice at all, please share it with me. I want to learn from as many individuals as I possibly can. For liberty, -Adam Sanacore

  • It looks like as of this morning that there is no longer a way to add news articles. The submit button takes you to the entertainment “Create” page. There does not seem to be any other option than images, film, or music, which clearly does not cover most news stories. Am I missing something?

  • First of all, I am unsure whether there is a more suitable category to file this under, if there is, I apologize in advance. I would like to know what are your thoughts on the News Feed Experiment Facebook conducted. In short, they removed posts with expressions tied to specific emotions. In one group, “happy” and “positive” posts were removed, as in the other, the “sad” posts did not show. This was done in order to watch the effects that the contents of the news feed had in your own status updates, or at least, that’s how I understood it. There has been vast outcry from the some media sources, as well as from the general public, questioning the ethics, and even suggesting an Orwellian side to the experiment. I’m not sure what to make of all of this. on one hand, it seems this type of situations is included in the Terms and Conditions. However, messing with a person’s state of mind through selective exposition, while interesting, is at least, of questionable ethics. Comments on this?
