  • I got into a discussion with a friend on Facebook about the Hobby Lobby ruling. I want some opinions on what she said below: “It may seem like a minor thing, but at what point do you say you can no longer impose your belief on someone else. To me if you are going to run a business in a free country you take on the responsibility of employees that are not going to have the same beliefs as you. If you don’t want to deal with that then don’t own a business, or take it to a country where that type of behavior is accepted. It makes me cringe that some people in this country do accept that type of behavior.”   My response: Nothing is stopping the employee from doing what the employer thinks is wrong. If the employer withholds that persons paycheck to prevent them from doing it that would be wrong. She then said that I was missing her point so I then elaborated further using her words. My response in the (((      ))) It may seem like a minor thing, but at what point do you say you can no longer impose your belief on someone else. ((( The minute it infringes on your rights))) To me if you are going to run a business in a free country you take on the responsibility of employees that are not going to have the same beliefs as you. (((Not true, not at all. An employer has no obligation to do anything for any employee unless it is in the contract. Benefits are offered not forced))) If you don’t want to deal with that then don’t own a business, or take it to a country where that type of behavior is accepted. ((( This country wouldn’t get very far if it bent to every whim of its employees))) It makes me cringe that some people in this country do accept that type of behavior. (((Me too, which is why I am an advocate for liberty and free markets))) I feel that I could have done a better job with this but I think I’m missing something…

  • Regarding this video from @akokesh: LiveLeak.com – The Restraint of Muslims (WARNING: GRAPHIC VIOLENCE) | Adam Kokesh I created a LL account for the first time to get involved in the discussions over there. Pretty interesting responses. Everyone there is assuming Adam is a Muslim or a Jew, or claiming he “forgot” 9/11 (when he referenced it in the video), or calling it “bullshit” without substantiation. I’m interested as to the Lme userbase’s response. Please watch the whole thing before commenting.
