This is episode 91 of You, Me, and BTC – your liberty and Bitcoin podcast!

A few days ago, 21 Inc. announced a new product called the 21 Bitcoin Computer. It’s essentially a small, versatile Bitcoin miner attached to a Raspberry Pi computer. It can run as a full Bitcoin node, mine a nearly constant stream of funds, and is supposed to streamline the sale of digital goods and services. Today, we’ll discuss how it works and how useful it might be. We’ll also make some guesses about where hardware like this could take the Bitcoin infrastructure and what products 21 might be planning for the future.

Your hosts today are Daniel Brown, Tim Baker, and John Stuart. Enjoy!

Leave a comment and tell us if you think the 21 Bitcoin Computer will really revolutionize the Bitcoin space!

  • Personally, I use Windows 8.1 (for some games) and Xubuntu on my desktop and Manjaro Linux on my laptop. I prefer to stick with open source operating systems as, especially linux in particular, are designed with security in mind. Of course, there remains the issue of binary blobs, but that is the price of hardware compatibility. Regardless, what operating system do you use? It is okay, if you aren’t a Linux enthusiast or if you need/prefer Windows or Mac.

  • Anyone have any big thoughts about the oscar nominations?   I really thought that Nightcrawler should have gotten more attention. Boyhood is pretty overrated and it seems like its only getting a lot of attention because it was filmed over 12 years.   Did any movies this year stand out to you as focusing on liberty? I didn’t get around to seeing the documentary about Edward Snowden.
