The scroll works and now you get a better sense of the vast resources that are here. Incredible to me given how I used to stuff my house full of books. Now all all my favorites live on a tiny machines.

Wow! You can even look at the books sorted by author! And there’s a fiction book too!
I want to give you a hug. Can I give you a hug? I’m going to give somebody a hug because our library is incredible.
Very nice. Could a list view be added? It’s easier to sort and view books that away. Also, maybe allow people to download the entire library in two clicks because why not? 😉 In addition, allowing people to select checkboxes to download multiple books.
I’ll see what we can’t do to implement some of these awesome ideas! Not sure if they are all feasible, but doesn’t hurt to check!
I don’t know why, Jeffrey, but I still continue to buy book after book to fill up my house. Maybe its just a phase and I’ll grow out of it, but for now I feel a sense of accomplishment seeing the physical collection grow.
oh my. Must, must stop. It is sooooo liberating to move from paper to digits. HUGE load off the mind.
Begging you.
I need to come up with a practical way to store notes and such. I’m too indoctrinated and dependent on margin notes etc.
Cameron, electronic books allow you to make searchable margin notes! Once you’ve tasted that, there’s no going back.
Roger, what e-reader do you use? I have found Kindle very frustrating in this regard, because notes and highlights I do on my Kindle touch don’t show up on Kindle app readers (Mac, iPhone, iPad), and vice versa. Plus, the only way to access my notes and highlights from the app readers seems to be through Amazon.com, which is less than convenient.
iBooks, on the other hand, seems even more isolated in this regard, at least with books I didn’t buy form Apple.
Thanks,
BK
BK, I’m using the Kindle app for Android, and Google Play for Android.
I only use one device, so I can’t comment on why you don’t see notes from your Kindle Touch on the Kindle app readers. On the Amazon website (under “Manage Your Kindle” it says “Synchronization will also keep track of any bookmarks, highlights, or notes that you add so you can view them on another device”, which suggests that it’s supposed to work.
Also, just in case I misled anyone, by searchable margin notes I mean that you can quickly search by browsing through the list of notes. I should have called this browsable margin notes, which is how I like to work with my notes anyway.
