Starting an AnCap meetup
Hi Guys!
I noticed there is no Anarcho Capitalist meetup here where I live in Berlin so I started one on meetup.com. I wonder if anyone has any advice regarding starting these types of groups?
So far there are 3 members. Should I wait for a few more members before arranging the first actual meetup. How to promote it? How to figure out a good place to meet and good frequency?
I don’t usually attend meetups via that site, but I have enough experience with it to know that your key to success is to consistently deliver something people feel is worth coming to over and over again.

You’ll find a network of groups around the world and some resources. Information on your concerns so you aren’t reinventing the wheel and going all alone.
The map shows a chapter near you, so maybe you are already growing if you meet them? Or at least have likely allies who’d like some help and friendship. If they aren’t active then your in the position to pick up and make a go of it. Email Amanda, she is very helpful.

It depends on the goal of the group. Personally I haven’t had much luck getting a group of an-caps together for one big meetup, and I know plenty. Everyone will say “I’m busy.” Don’t take it personally. A lot of people are afraid to go because they won’t know anyone (even though that is the point of meetups, to meet people you don’t know that share interests).
If your goal to is create a political party/activist group, push for regular meetups. Say something like, “We’re going to meet the first Saturday every month at Starbucks.” You might get a lot of interest the first time and be disappointed with the turn out the next time, but keep at it. Keeping a regular time means that people will keep it in mind and might try to put it into their schedule. I suggest announcing the schedule/theme/discussion topics in advance. One meetup group I loosely associate myself with has a rotating schedule (one week is game night, one week is presentations, one week is co-working, etc.)
If you’re just in it to meet people, just message each person individually and ask them to hang out. No one has ever turned me down, even when they had no idea what I looked like. I’m sure they would be happy to hang out with you one on one.
