Just became a father of a healthy & beautiful baby girl, whom I would like to give a name “Liberty”. What do you guys think of that name for a living person?
Little background:
I’m European guy, married to a Chinese. We met and dated while studying in US, which is one part of the reason it makes sense for us to give our daughter an American name. But now we live in Hong Kong, so it would be a bit more unusual than in the states. If we do decide to give our daughter a middle name, it would probably be a Chinese one. All Chinese people here usually have American middle names for easier introduction/pronunciation purposes (I call it their Hollywood names).
My personal desire to give our daughter the name Liberty or perhaps some other libertarian name is quite strong. Ever since the Ron Paul Revolution changed the course of my life in 2007, I’ve cared about nothing more than learning about and promoting the ideas of individual freedom. My newly acquired taste of freedom during my studies in the US and now here in Hong Kong today (the worlds’ freest economy) is a solid and constant reminder of how important freedom really is for one’s well being. Well, enough of my blabbering…
Thanks in advance for any of your thoughts.
